Dual processor motherboards?

I had a dual processor 4 core x 2 skulltrail with q6600 cpus at 4 ghz back in the day, it didn't do any better than a 4ghz E8600. AFAIK FSX uses the extra cores to load scenery, so it had very little in the way of blurries(which were bad with the dual core e8600).
