I launch FSX from a shortcut on my desktop. For some reason I began to get the UAC "Do you want to allow to following program to make changes to your computer..." popup window on launch. I spent some time trying to stop it appearing and failed.

 

Eventually I solved it by deleting the shortcut and creating another. I have no idea why but felt it worth passing on.
