January 19, 201313 yr Author Commercial Member Okay thanks, this is what it says, have no idea what these mean. Now when I think about it at least before this first crash I noticed something abnormal, Couati apparently crashed or restarted when I tried to request boarding in Aerosoft Innsbruck using GSX, not sure if that's related to this. January 19, 201313 yr The Stackhash crash is one of the hardest to pinpoint. It relates to memory and you did have a Memory_Access_Violation (005). One of the "fixes" for most applications is to enable Data Execution Prevention (DEP) but FSX will not allow that to happen so that is an impossible happening. You can make sure your Virtual Memory (Page File) is set to System Managed Size as FSX seems to like that setting better. StackHashes are basically data from programs that are in memory, that is unreserved for that program. You see there is memory reserved for each program when it starts. The data from the program is extrapolated by the processor and sorted out in the processor cache if it overloads the processor cache it is feed into memory addresses that are reserved for that use, for the use of the processor to sort out the program, as it is loading. A application will fail, or crash when that code is copied into memory and it loses some data. Data loss happens because the memory still has static built up in it that was not cleared properly or it simply ran out of room and over wrote the memory that was previously there, stringing the data together confusing the processor when it tries to load the program. They have that hexadecimal code such as _ff93, because that is the address in memory of the faulty code. Sometimes running Disk Cleanup in Windows 7 or running a Registry cleaner like CCleaner or Advanced System Care will fix the problem. Of course, clearing the CPU cache is done by shutting down your system and restarting it. Pretty simple huh? The last module loaded prior to the crash belongs to the Multi-Crew Experience. The module is used to communicate with the PMDG 737. Make sure the mcpmd73X.dll in \FSX\MCE dlls\ folder is version 1.0.3.6. If not, you need to update. It is not necessarily the dll that caused the crash but may have been a contributing factor. One of the things you can do to investigate is to disable MCE and see if the problem continues. If not, you have found your evil program crashing FSX. I see you have MSV2005 SP1 properly installed. Another issue could be with dotnet. Make sure you have versions 1.1 through 4.5 installed. I use the tools at the following website to verify proper installation - http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/10/13/8999004.aspx. Some of dotnet's functions is to make sure your applications run properly in FSX and manage memory. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! January 19, 201313 yr Author Commercial Member Ok thanks, I will Make sure the mcpmd73X.dll in \FSX\MCE dlls\ folder is version 1.0.3.6. If not, you need to update. Well it seems to be 2.0.1.3, so I guess I have even more up to date version then if that's like normal version number? Yeah I cleaned my registry with CCleaner after latest crash, it found pretty many errors so that could have helped too. When I have time and have looked at these things some more I will try to make a flight form Innsbruck to Malta without Multicrew and see if it works, I have had some problems before with MCE so I guess it's worth trying too.
January 19, 201313 yr Sorry. I should have checked for the latest version (been busy). Hope you find the fix. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! January 25, 201313 yr Author Commercial Member I just noticed that also my FSCaptain lacked several minor updates, I guess that could be the cause of these crashes too. I will now soon try to make a complete flight from Innsbruck to Malta with FSCaptain + PMDG 737NGX and see if it doesn't crash now after updating & not using multicrew. If it does then I guess the next step would be trying to do the flight without FScaptain too. Hopefully this will be my last flight to/from Malta for a while, whenever Sim Giants gives me win 7 compatible installer I will move to Canary Islands and start doing some short island hopping around there, those short island hops suit me way better when my freetime is limited.
January 30, 201313 yr Author Commercial Member Oh well now it seems like my FSX crashes about 70% of the time when either picking up aircraft, weather or airport. I think I will do a full reinstall when Acceleration DVD that I ordered arrives. // Now after many tries I managed to load FSX flight, this time with Captain sim 727. During climbout again totally random instant CTD. Now there's definitely no other option than doing total reinstall of FSX + all the addons, god I hate this reinstall nightmare that I will soon have to go through. Been tired enough even without this... At least I've learnt one lesson, next time after FSX reinstall I will install only those addons that I truly need at the moment instead of having all my hundreds of addons installed at the same time. Probably will install mainly just sceneries to Hawaii + all the biggest global & continental scale addons and airport addons for my long haul destinations. I hope it helps, if not then I will reinstall this whole damn OS.
January 30, 201313 yr Now after many tries I managed to load FSX flight, this time with Captain sim 727. During climbout again totally random instant CTD. Are you still getting the StackHash crash? Have you run AppCrashView to look at the faulting module (provides a clue as to the cause)? You can reinstall FSX if you want but I would try disabling your addon scenery and see if the CTD's stop. If CTD's continue, you can rule out addon scenery. They say renaming your FSX.cfg to fsx.orig then rebuilding your fsx.cfg is much the same as reinstalling FSX. You should give that a try. If it doesn't fix the problem, then you can rename the fsx.orig back to fsx.cfg and you're back to square one. Look at your dll.xml too. It could be corrupted (but it takes someone knowledgeable of .xml to tell if it is corrupt. Usually there are several dll.xml's in your fsx folder (where the fsx.cfg is located). Developers rename the old dll.xml so they can reinstall your original dll.xml if you decide to remove their product. Save your current one to dll.orig then rename one of the older ones. See if that fixes the problem. StackHash CTD's are related to memory so you need to be seriously looking at memory configuration. A couple of years ago I had unexplained crashes while using the CS757. Uninstalled it and the problem went away. Have you uninstalled/reinstalled the CS727? Lots of things you could do before going to the chore of uninstalling FSX and reinstalling it. I recently did as I had an issue with my SSD (didn't like a driver update). The reinstallation has been very slow and methodical. Some of my addons may never see the light of day again as I'm now into this MegaScenery Earth V2. Hope you find a solution. January 31, 201313 yr Author Commercial Member Well currently I have so very many addons installed & I've often installed many of them at once that it would be really difficult to track down which ones are causing this. Also I have had these crashes when choosing aircraft/airport/weather for a longer time and also I've got crashes whenever using Multiplayer, only these in flight free flight CTD's are something new, I think only by reinstalling I might get rid of both and also probably get way better loading times as I'm now going to install only addons that I happen to need at the moment and not have all of them installed like before. Only things these three flights had in common were use of Multicrew, FScaptain and maybe some other random modules that really shouldn't be much active though, crashes were exactly the same with PMDG 737NGX, CLS747 and CS 727, flown in Europe, Near Eastern African coast and Hawaii. So yeah I think reinstall and then later limiting number of addons installed to something more reasonable should get rid of the problem or at least make it easier to track down. I will report later when I've reinstalled and tell how it works.
January 31, 201313 yr Hate to see you have to go that route but think it's the best in the long run. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
