January 21, 201313 yr After a re-install of FSX I have a black cursor. I couldn't install a downloaded SP1 file for some unknown reason. Then when I tried to re-install Acceleration and SP2 (with SP1) I got a pop-up saying I needed the English version of the orginal FSX disc (which I have had since it first came out). So I went to the Microsoft website and downloaded SP2 and installed it into the sim. I still have the black cursor. Does anyone know how to get the cursor back to white? Regards, John G
January 22, 201313 yr Make sure you do/did not install SP2. When you install Acceleration, it will install SP1. SP2 is not required as that is Acceleration. SP2 is only installed after SP1 IF you do not have Acceleration. If you purchase Acceleration after you install SP2, you must uninstall SP2 before reinstalling Acceleration. SP2 was coded for people who did not want to buy Acceleration. If you installed SP2 at any point, uninstall it or completely uninstall FSX/Acceleration, clean your HDD, then reinstall FSX first, run it one time, then install Acceleration. Go Fly. Here's an excellent tutorial on how to properly uninstall/reinstall FSX - http://support.precisionmanuals.com/KB/a87/how-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-fsx.aspx. The only thing I would add is to run a freeware registry cleaner before reinstalling. A black cursor usually indicates an issue with memory; however, you can also go into the program than handles your mouse settings and select a black cursor.
