Downloaded the demo last week so am new to X-plane, quick question, can you set up the hat switch to pan around the 3d cockpit and if not how can you use the mouse to do so ?

I hope that I can help you. From the task bar in X-Plane , go to: Settings, Joystick and Equipment, Buttons Adv, Press your hat switch open General and select the panning function. You will need to do this for hat, left,right, up and down. You can even select the speed of response fromthe list as in nornal, fast and slow.
