Reverse Thrust

Featured Replies

So I've been getting in sim flight w/ FSX - I have the Siatek throttle - I found good YouTube video on how to set up the reverse thrust for landing a jet. I can apply the control on the throttle - slide the reverse key to the right - and save. Before take off I test and it works fine. I then try and land but by now it doesn't work anymore. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

Hi

if you have the Saitek pro throttle.there is a detente at the bottom.

under the detente is recognised as a button..I program that button as reverse thrust through Fsuipc under the buttons/switches menu.you pick fscontrol, which opens up a menu where you pick throttle 1 decrease(put tick in box for repeat)

you can do it for as many throttles as you like(747=4)set the button to repeat and as soon as you land pull the throttles past the detente and reverse thrust will kick in.

once you get hang of it it's very easy to do.

The detent is a good point...

The other suggestion I have is apply a very small null zone to the bottom of your throttle lever. You may pull the throttle all the way back to zero, but it could still be outputting a very small + value to the program, which would negate any attempt to apply the reverse thrust. application of thrust makes the reversers turn off.

Do not judge people until you've walked a mile in their shoes. Then at least you are a mile ahead of them when you ###### them off...

Thank you for both posts - I now have FSUIPC and will be jumping into the manual soon - any thoughts that make the transition to FSUIPC easier would be much appreciated.
