ATI control panel problem

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have a Radeon 9600 256meg video card. I have a odd problem. When I go into planes with no VC but 2D bitmaps for the views, there is a gap all the way around the outside of the screen where I can see outside the plane. I have never seen this before. It is almost like the panel views are too small for the screen size. Here's the thing, when I just have the ATI driver installed without the ATI control panel this problem goes away. As soon as I install the control panel the gap returns. I have tried mutiple versions of the driver & control panel with the same result. Without the control panel I obviously can't set any of the video cards advance settings. Any ideas on this? TIA.Pat CallaghanP4-3.06Ghz1gig PC 2700 ramVisiontek Xtasy 9600 256meg video

I get the same thing. I had it on my 9600pro, my 128mb 9800pro, and also on my 256mb 9800 pro, and with all drivers from 3.7 to 4.7. If I remember correctly, it is only with add on aircraft, not the default ones. I haven't flown a default in a long time, so I'm not totally sure on this. I have no idea what causes this, but it sure would be nice to find out! I just live with it, because I need the control panel.

Well, I narrowed it down to the anti-aliasing setting in custom settings. As long as I keep that set to "application preference", I do not get the gaps. I am still not sure why but I am closer. Good luck.Pat
