February 3, 201313 yr Hi Does anyone else experience problems with REX abruptly changing the weather? I often see very sudden cloud changes and/or movement as well as wind shifts. I have turned on cloud smoothing and wind smoothing, however this does not seem to have much of an effect. If anybody could help that would be great. Thanks
February 3, 201313 yr I think this is bound to happen with ANY weather generator. Eventually the METAR is changed, even if the program can interpolate the weather between stations... For the wind shifts I'm not sure, I know a lot of programs says they've fixed it but have you also tried FSUIPC wind smoothing? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
February 3, 201313 yr Hi, I'm not sure but doesn't it say something in the REX manual to the effect that you may experience sudden weather changes in REX depending on the number of weather stations within range of the position of your aircraft at the time the next weather update is applied. If you have FSUIPC you can set it to smooth the wind speed and direction so it doesn't hit your plane quite so suddenly. Happy flying, Happy Flying, Dave Phillips.
February 3, 201313 yr Author Its kind of odd. I have my weather set to refresh every 15 minutes, however I seem to get these problems far more often than that, maybe every few minutes.
