February 4, 201313 yr Hi all I have had the 737NGX ever since it came out, but for a week now i have been implementing winds from REX Essentials into the fmc of the NGX! I loved the plane already but using these winds in the fmc made my NGX experience even better! the tutorial that came with the NGX really helpt me out! my progress page is more accurate and the plane flies even smoother then it already did  Thanks PMDG i should have tried this earlier but this is awesome :Applause: Just wanted to share this haha! Cheers Jeffrey KLM 777-300ER Jeffrey.O
February 5, 201313 yr I enjoy interpreting wind charts and inputting wind forecasts: doing so adds realism and another interesting action to perform when the autopilot is engaged. I reference NOAA international wind charts and use an on-screen protractor for greater accuracy.

February 5, 201313 yr I do this and it helps realism but I struggle to find accurate wind data. Can you share where you get the wind data from (preferably something that matches Opus Grib data). I have not had any luck finding wind data for NAT´s either. Cheers Iain -Iain Watson-

Cheers Iain What i do is i have REX Essentials wich for me is a great weather add-on program and you build a flightplan! once you load that it wil give you a nav log with the QNH for your departure and arrival i always verify that with actual weather charts of the airport and of the area that my route is located over. It also gives you winds at different flight levels, ofcourse its not always spot on but i would say its pretty accurate if i verify it with actual weather charts of that moment on the internet! here i have an example of the nav log! February 7, 201313 yr Thank you Owen for that i will try and see how that works! You're welcome, but since you use REX weather, using REX data as your primary source is probably more accurate. I do this and it helps realism but I struggle to find accurate wind data. Can you share where you get the wind data from (preferably something that matches Opus Grib data). Two reliable sources are Jeppesen and the NOAA.

I have not had any luck finding wind data for NAT´s either. Cheers Iain Iain I run AS2012, import the flight plan then print the nav log and coded route weather and close AS2012.I use that printout as the data for wind entries when using OpusFSX.
