February 7, 201313 yr The uiautomationcore.dll 'fix' does not work for every CTD and so far only for the menu crashes. I have never received this crash and several people have not gotten the crash either (clicking on the fsx menu several times). I think putting an old Vista dll in a modern computer system is asking for trouble but it evidently does work for many so it is an option. If it doesn't work though, you should remove it. In any case the OP appears to have received a FSX CTD and he should download and run AppCrashView - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html and post the crash report here (with a listing of all modules loaded) for us to troubleshoot.
