I'm new to the forum and have a few questions about Vatsim (sorry if it's already been posted).

 

Do I need any add on scenery?

 

Squawkbox or FSinn?

 

General tips.

P.S I'm not completely new to FSX just flying online!

No, you do not need addon scenery but its highly desirable to have at least freeware afcad for correct runway and taxiway positions.

 

FSInn with IVAO aircraft pack is my configuration, works much more stable than SB, and its much nicer visually. SB is maybe better for starters because of its "install and play" fashion. FSInn needs some time to be set up properly.

 

Tips:

Do not connect on runway

Find a place with active ATC and listen phraseology

Use private chat to ask ATC whatever you want, they will help you most of the time (if they are not too busy with controlling).

Be kind and other will be kind too.

Do not use unicom for private chat its so anoying.

Prepare up to date charts for your dep and app airports.
