I was just wondering if someone here could give me an answer, can I overclock an I7 2600k chip with an MSI H61M-E33 B3 board. It says on the box 1 second overclocking with OC genie, but I just can't figure it out. I go into my bios and there is no way to up the thing more than 3.6 ghz. Thanks for the help.

Don't use the genie thing. Manually change the settings in my opinion.

You can't overclock on an H61 motherboard.

P67 or Z68....

thank you for the help. I was afraid of that. I'll have to upgrade my board, I'm furious with the guys who sold it to me they said I could overclock no problem. I guess I should have done my homework

You´d be facing a complete reinstall. There´s software that´ll let you save an "image" of your harddrives, but I doubt it´ll transpose to a different rig.

http://eu.msi.com/product/mb/H61M-E33--B3-.html top section makes some reference to overclocking, if it´s just desktop overclock you may not find it very stable, but you could try it out.
