P3D and scenery checker

Recommended Posts

P3D and scenery checker .. the results indicated a bad broblem:

Area 126 is listed twice .. the first one is called Bathymetry .. whatever that is.

Anyway it is not in FSX so something new I guess.

Could someone check and see if two areas should have same numbers in P3D . My thought would be no.

If so, can I manually renumber without getting myself in trouble?

[Area.126]

Title=Bathymetry

Local=Scenery\Bathymetry

Layer=126

Active=TRUE

Required=FALSE

[Area.126]

Title=FortRucker

Local=Scenery\Cities\FortRucker

Layer=126

Active=TRUE

Required=FALSE

[Area.127]

Title=FSDreamTeam Los Angeles International

Local=FsDreamTeam\KLAX_V2

Layer=127

Active=TRUE

Required=FALSE

[Area.128]

Title=LatinVFR - San Diego KSAN

Local=F:\P3DsceneryPacks\San Diego_KSAN

Layer=128

Active=TRUE

Required=FALSE

Yes you can manually renumber, but you should try to use your scenery changing screen in fsx to try and solve it the legit way :) oops P3D so not sure how that will work but manual should be fine.

Before you do that, why dont you simply disable bathymetry? It is a feature of P3D for those who wish to try naval simulators, boats, submarines, etc. If you dont use it, simply untick the feature in your Options menu. There should be no need to manually modify anything.

Dont forget Scenery Checker is only checking for stuff that is in the FSX order of things, it does not take into account the additional feature of P3D.

"It is a feature of P3D for those who wish to try naval simulators" not knowing P3D Will is correct untick it - that should do it.

Will (and Rich),

Thanks for the info.

I have already renumbered ....... Worked ok. Scenery checker then said all OK.

The reason I did not Uncheck is because I do not know much about scenery.

Even less about submarines!

I do not like messing with this stuff. No more editing for me!

The only problem there is that even with a high end rig Bathymetry can be a serious hit to performance. Un-checking this option is important.

Mac,

Would it be better for me to just delete the "area" Bathymetry instead of unchecking it?

Vaughan, strongly suggest the other way around.

It is way simpler if you simply deselect (untick) bathimetry. The program (P3D) should then adjust itself and remove any entries it doesn't need.
