Is there any good photorealistic VFR scenery for the north east of england?

I would like something similar/identical for FS9!

There is VFR Photographic Scenery for Eastern and Northern England available in a boxed form produced by Horizon SImulation. I would have to say that it is not the best quality photographic scenery (certainly nothing like the FSX equivalent) but, to my knowledge is the only one available for FS9. I am currently doing a fresh re-install of FS9 on my new PC but have chosen not to reinstall the VFR Photographic scenery for England and Wales simply because it is not the greatest quality, but if you know the area and want some photoreal scenery then you might be happy with this provided you generally fly slowly and above 4000 feet. If you do decide to go for it then it is also worth getting the VFR Terrain addon. Hope this helps.
