  1. Eh, people can use it however they want. I know i for one don't have much time at all to sim, maybe once a month, and i'm not going to use that time to plan my own route out! Far from feeling like i had to have as much realism in the planning and execution as possible, i now realise that it's more about just having fun with the sim regardless of how that's achieved.
  2. I'm also curious what you mean by problems with the area. I'm from Newcastle also and it isn't a huge distance away in terms of a global hobby and I can't derive the meaning from your post.
  3. This is terrible news. May your days be peaceful, numbered or not.
  4. I can't. Did it by accident ages ago ando got loads of EICAS alerts.
  5. I might be missing something here but how do you confirm modes on the FMA? What even is the FMA? Wouldn't that be on the primary flight display?
  6. Operate them correctly and it won't happen?
  7. Can't see this going well.
  8. Oh god please make it stop...
  9. What starter?
  10. None of this makes sense. The APU is started electrically from ground source, it then provides it's own bleed air and electrical power to other components in the aircraft. What's difficult about this?
  11. It works for me and has since day one. Not sure what you guys are doing wrong.
  12. That's your opinion, it's not a definite statement, much like mine was.
  13. Why should that matter? As a consumer, my viewpoint is that it is taking forever. I'm not a developer, so why would I look at it from their perspective?
  14. GFX card issue, check connections, clean dust, see if this helps.
  15. The QW one is taking forever to come out.
  16. I've also always wondered about this. Every time i've had it explained to me i've missed the point entirely.
  17. It's definitely not the correct font. Try installing all the latest visual C++ runtimes from MS first.
  18. Working with clients taught me never to assume someone has any clue what they're doing, even if they claim to be a brain surgeon. Anyway see my edit above if you didn't, he still isn't getting radio call outs too!
  19. I think that's what he means; that he has ser the BARO minimums and it's showing on the PFD. Also I can't answer for the US but in the UK ILS charts have the minimums in barometric and radio (AGL) so I shouldn't think therethere'd be too much confusion there assuming wherever the OP is from does the same. That's good advice though; I'd never really though of it too hard I always just plug the published number in. Probably a simism in there somewhere. Anyway I don't think that's the problem from his description as he says he doesn't get the radio altitude call outs which come from the radio altimeter and should work even if minimums haven't been set.
  20. You can load more in via the FMC.
  21. The FW overhead should be fully useable from default eyepoint if you click the projector to flatten the 3D model!
  22. The pressure controller is automated, I think it takes the cruise altitude set in the FMC as the altitude to pressurise to. If you climb above this it won't know you intended to do that and will warn you. You're much better off just setting the cruise altitude to the altitude you are going to cruise at. I really can't think why you'd do it any other way than this in normal procedures.
  23. I may simply repeat the flight itself as i'd quite like to see if it does re-materialise. Certainly was no error message, the FMC just went weird and everything else continued as normal... very strange. Will submit a ticket if it repeats.
