Installing Blue Sky Scenery

Featured Replies

Hello! I just downloaded my first Blue Sky scenery area (San Fran area). I cannont seem to get it to appear in FSX. Here is what I'm doing to install it:

I created a folder called "Blue Sky SFO" and put all the bgl files I downloaded into it, inside a folder called "Scenery"

I put that folder in the Add Ons folder inside FSX main directory

I fire up FSX, go to the scenery library, click on Add Area, select the "Blue Sky SFO" folder, click in the white area in the box. It then appears in the scenery list at spot number 1, with the check box checked.

I exit FSX, restart, position at KSFO, and I get the same default scenery as always. Any ideas? What am I doing wrong? Thanks,m

check your FSX / Addon Scenery / Blue Sky SFO folder to make sure there is a Scenery folder, and Texture folder in it. and inside the Scenery folder, you see the .bgls that are supposed to be there (Verify against your download from Blue Sky Scenery) as well as the textures that are supposed to be there ARE actually in the correct folder.

Thanks for the reply. Dummy me, the scenery was installed correctly, but I had accidentally installed the area just south of SFO, so I was flying in the wrong place! Jeez...

now that you have your Sectional all sorted out, I hope you have a great time flying your new scenery!
