August 31, 200421 yr Folks,I seem to be having a problem removing static aircraft from several airports of the German Airport series, namely EDDM and EDDK.I removed all the references with 'stat' in the scenery folder, but they are still there!I would appreciate your input if you were successful with it.ThanksDom
September 1, 200421 yr Don't have EDDK but for EDDM i removed EDDM-fs9-1-stat.bgl and EDDM-fs9-2-stat.bgl and that did the trick. This was in GA1 2004 edition. Some of the older sceneries have the statics embedded in other scenery files so that they cannot be removed.-
September 1, 200421 yr EDDM you shouldbe able to remove the static aircraft as described above. EDDK the static aircraft are in one single bgl file with the terminal buildings and runways. You can't get rid of them unless you use a bgl disassembler tool. Misha
September 1, 200421 yr Oh I see. It's a pity. Where would that tool be and is it easy to manage?ThanksDom
September 1, 200421 yr Author Hi,here is what to do about EDDK.It is kind of complicated, but it works.I wrote a little utility called 3D Remover (remover.zip at avsim) which does exactly what you want. It has the advantage of not disassembling and reassembling, so there should be little data loss. Now there is a problem with EDDK of GA. The EDDK-bgl is a compressed bgl and unfortunately my utility cannot handle this. So, before using my utility, you have to decompress the file.here is what to do:1. Get the FS2000 scenery SDK of microsoft and extract the included decompression utility.2. Use this utility (read the included documentation) to decompress the appropriate file (I think it is KBO-F8-2.bgl)3. Use my utility to remove the aircrafts by defining the corresponding textures (Again, read the enclosed documentation). This worked fine for me.Hope this helps,Torsten Wille
September 1, 200421 yr Author I made a mistake:the file is called remover10.zip(I think it is remover.zip on flightsim.com)Greetings,Torsten Wille
