Unable to receive ATIS/Flightwatch on 122.00

Featured Replies

I have AS 2012, Build 4801 installed. On the Wx Options pag, I have Voice ATIS/Flightwatch and Direct Weather Control checked. I am using the default FSX 737NGX, but have tried other airplanes as well (PMDG NGX and CoolSky DC9).

In all instances, I am not able to hear the weather on 122.00 or 122.02. I am able to hear the weather over the airport's FSX ATIS frequency, and it appears to be accurate. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Hi,

See if your computer will play any stand alone wave file.

Hi Jim,

I have no problems playing other .wav files in MSFS or on the computer. For example, all the PMDG .wav files play just fine.

I believe you must have a flight plan loaded into AS2012 with start destination airports.

Maybe that's where your problem is.

I'm using Active Sky Evolution (which I purchased a couple of days ago), and I am unable to receive ATIS/Flightwatch on 122.000. I have FSX Acceleration, Windows 8, and I run both FSX and ASE as administrators. I've tried it on the default 172 and the Carenado B58 Baron. I'm sure I have COM1 active since I make sure the panel light for COM1 is lit up, and the frequency for COM1 set to 122.00. Thanks for any assistance....Rod

Thanks Stonelove,

That could very well be my problem.  Most times, I knock around the pattern or in the Wichita-Hutichson-Salina area (the typical day one FlightSafety simulator profile  )

i will try setting a flight plan in AS2012 to see if that solves the problem.

Thanks!
