Networking MCE?

Featured Replies

Not sure if this has covered...did a search and really didn't find my answer. Can MCE be run in a network, on a client PC. The reason I want to do this, I have PRO/ATC running on a client pc. I do this so I can use my usb headset to hear PRO/ATC sounds on my headset and all other sounds IE: aircraft , engine....over my 5.1 speakers connected to my main pc that is running FSX.So I want to use this same headset for MCE, and in order to do that i need it to run from my client pc.

I'm a bit curious - I'm not familiar with ProAtc, but why do you need to run it on a separate server ? I run MCE with default FSX ATC, and I can run all the ATC/MCE stuff through my USB headset, and other sounds through a sound card on the same PC. Does ProAtc not direct its sounds through the same channel as you specify for Voice in FSX Settings ?

Hey DickB, I have tried that through FSX, but does not work. i have it running on client pc, that way i can use my second monitor for PRO/ATC moving map and data setup.

Thanks for your reply, Bob

Ah - I see.

I don't think MCE can be networked, but I'll leave that to the MCE gurus to comment on ^_^

Hi Dutch1

MCE needs to run on the same machine as FSX, Prepar3D or FS9

One way you can achieve this...

Connect your USB headset to the simulator machine

Set MCE input and output to use USB headset

Set other sounds to speakers if you wish.

Get Walkman like earphones (3 mm jack on one end) and plug them to sound out connector on networked machine.

Squeeze the earphones under the headset so you can hear both ProATC and MCE FO.

Not really high tech :P

Should work though.
