Captain Sim Lights Problem

Featured Replies

Hello All!

I am experiencing a problem with my newly received Captain Sim 777. In the cockpit (and at the exterior as well) when I turn on the lights via the switches on the overhead, nothing happens. However, when I hold down Shift + L or L for the exterior, the lights will briefly flash on (repeatedly) however when I let go of either of those two buttons the lights are off. In VC the only lights are the upper overhead lights and the lower pedestal lights. As well I can see the light above the glare shield  yet it does nothing to illuminate the cockpit. Any help to get the lights?

Thanks!

It turns out that yes, you were right, the generators were off.

The problem lies in the generators being off. On the overhead in the bottom left, the generators are switched off when first loading FS. When you press them on (you can search for a map of the overhead, and about the generators; I think there are other posts about it) you have full range of the lights in the VC. I would imagine that when you switch aircraft (to a default) the generators are by default on, and therefore are still on when you reload the 777. I unfortunately am having VNAV problems in the aircraft, and I'm excited for the 777, but I hope I made getting the lights to work easier!
