Featured Replies

Hello!

Recently i make a new installation in my system including Windows 8 Pro an FSX and their addons when i installed two new SSD.

I have Windows 8 in one SSD and FSX and all their addons in the other.

I have a question regarding FSX performance and Nvidia Inspector Settings.

I've all important tweaks in FSX, i'm for years in FSX world.

In this new installation i use the AVSIM guide for setup FSX and Nvidia Inspector.

Ok, now my question...

I obtain more performance and smooth with the settings that Tabs post in this post (http://forum.avsim.net/topic/324786-nvidia-configuration-guide-inspector-2xxxx-drivers-version-20-explanations-of-all-settings/), that the new settings about 1/2 Vsync Refresh rate in the new guide ...

Why? Is better the Tabs settings?

I have REX Essentail OD with 2048 textures. GTX480 SuperOc and i7 2600k at 4,6Ghz. FSX run very good and very smooth with my system ...

All depends on your computer, mate.  Done be lazy.  Try out the different settings and see what works best for you and your computer.  The reason there's no definitive guide out there that says "you must have your settings on A, B and C," is that each computer handles the settings differently.

Also different guides take different approaches, especially if you use DX10. I have tried Word Not Allowed's approach, the DX10 guide here in AVSIM and the tweaking guide. I have decided that the best setup for me happens when I delete my fsx.cfg (start over), use the Bojote web service and then follow the inspector settings in this (PMDG General)  forum. The sim is smoother than it has ever been and it looks really good, not sure what I was doing wrong before....

I don't use DX10. Is a good idea to use it?

Using the guide Word Not Allowed helped write, I'm seeing good results so far, but have only messed around about 20 minutes inside the sim.  I'm nowhere near done tweaking.
