    Interesting find

I am 95% sure that this issue is fixed by setting affinity mask = 14 ( quad core chip) for me anyway . The freeze/recover thing seems to happen if I remove that setting with the PMDG 777 and a few other planes. Eric W
  3. Does cabin comfort come into play? For example all the vibration from those 2 mammoth engines spooling up out of sync with each other. Eric W
  4. Another scenario I always wondered about, you land in Florida after a long flight out of the cold north, you fully refuel and your fuel temp is still -27c. Eric W

I can say that I have tried everything in this thread , everything ! Also was getting the same freeze with FS labs Concorde. To be very clear this issue is about the sim just freezing solid with sound. It unfreezes between 5 and 20 minutes. When it unfreezes you have burned 5-20 minutes of fuel otherwise the sim just continues.I have triggered this freeze just by opening the windows task manager. If you monitor the CPU usage 2 or 3 cores of the CPU are pegged to the max until it clears up. I created a couple saved flights that I could reproduce the issue every time, then guess what , the freeze goes away for good ! Haven't seen it in a while. I think setting the affinity mask in fsx.cfg may be the answer here but I haven't proven it yet. Eric W
  6. For what its worth , the latest FSUIPC now has an option that sets any flight (including saved flights ) to the correct UTC time when loading, no matter where your default flight is. Great feature. Eric W

I can confirm that I have had this freeze on another aircraft by another developer. Don't think its the T7 for me. It is a setting or something though. Mine freezing was gone until I decided to delete fsx.cfg to try tweaks. Then the freeze came back. The only annoying thing with the T7 is you will lose 10k lbs of fuel while its frozen and add fuel when the sim recovers. Never had it on the 737 though. Perhaps performance related? Head scratcher. Eric W
  8. I had this issue on a saved flight . the #2 just wouldn't go . Deleted the saved situation and rebooted the PC and haven't seen it since. Eric W

Well for me overclock is not the issue, the freezes actually happen less if I run it a little faster. Eric W

Yes, but I disable it (I think). I have excluded fsx directory and the process. I uncheck "real time protection".

I get this freeze as well. I swear I didn't get it when the plane first came out. So I am not sure if I stumbled upon a setting that make this occur or not. It is definitely under investigation. This one is sporadic and not easily repeatable. Some flights are freeze free, others every 10 minutes. Once I triggered the freeze by opening the task manager to see what was happening with processor and memory. The only thing that's annoying is that once it unfreezes 10k lbs of fuel is gone. So I have to add fuel to make it sometimes. I rarely used the 3D VC before the 777 so I thought it may be that, went back to the NGX in VC, no freezes. Now I'm back to testing without traffic to see if that is the issue or the trigger. I don't think its anything to do with VAS , it will happen with only default scenery. Also I can almost confirm that the freezes happen way less when I set Affinitymask in FSX config. I have an old Core2 Quad Q9550 processor @ 2.83GHZ Eric Wallace
  12. Its a scheduling bug or something. there are a few threads on the forum about it. I was on the case when I had the problem in a Cessna . So I completely uninstalled it, deleted the folder and started over with 5.4b. Incidentally I now get the freeze where the sim just locks up for 30 seconds up to 10 minutes then continues almost every flight if not 4 times a flight. Wonder if I stumbled into something because I never had that before . I am going to try removing AI all together and see if that helps.
  13. Ok that's the ntdll.dll crash and that's a tough one. that's a windows module. google "ntdll.dll" crash and you will see its faulty software usually, but can also be a corrupt driver or such. Occasionally its a bad memory module or video card. I had ntdll.dll crashes quite frequently and found it was MyTraffic 5.4c. I cleaned it out and reinstalled up to 5.4b and I am all ok there.
  14. The module that caused the crash usually isn't far down the report. Eric W
  15. well did you put a chart or other document on the worktable that you need to see? not trying to be a smart$#@ but the lighting effects that are put into the panel are amazing , like dawn/ dusk/ sunset /sunrise lighting situations are absolutely incredible with shading on all the knobs and their reflections , it really seems that PMDG may have really stretched the limits of the sim here, so maybe some decisions were made to get all out for needed functions? Plus this plane will fly through all these phases in 1 flight so that may also have been a criteria? my 2c Eric W
  16. That's really cool

Just noticed that if you choose an RNAV approach for landing that the MCP will allow you to dial a setting that's close to your minimum for landing. So if your MDA is 522 it will go from 600 to 530 to 500 as you dial down the MCP knob. Am I right on this? I saw it twice. Eric W
  18. The figure I mentioned was from Boeing , the OP didn't specify 777-200LR/FX which is PMDG nomenclature
  19. I will find a pic. I stand by my statements here. The only reason I noticed it is because it flashed on and off quickly while my system was freezing and trying to catch up with the scenery. Eric W
  20. yes my window heat was on thank you. there sure is a frosty look that creeps up at the edges of your windscreen. I was experimenting with settings and saw the effect pop on and off.

Am I noticing frost buildup on the windscreen at altitude for a while? Eric W
  22. 1,127 as of August 2013

Also someone else replied about the file being blocked so I checked , and shure enough if you right click on the file , check the general tab it said it was blocked because it was copied from another computer. I hit allow and I haven't seen the ntdll.dll crash and freeze with this AC yet ! Smooth sailing so far hope this is the fix. Eric W
  24. Many of those switches are never turned off, unless for troubleshooting or ground maintenance. Why sims think these should ever be toggled off is a total misnomer. What's more, many systems on this particular aircraft are automated and they are turned on /off in order and/or tested by the 'puters Eric W
  25. Exactly, I like both features. Honestly didn't think auto cruise would interest me, but I have to say its pretty cool and gives you time to play with long routes. On a different note, I can't believe how the plane can perform even on a full load to OMDB. It's hard to believe such a heavy plane can climb like that.
