Frost on Windows

Featured Replies

Am I noticing frost buildup on the windscreen at altitude for a while?

Obvious question but have you tried turning all anti ice to ON?

Anti ice has no effect on windshields make sure the window heat is on.

yes my window heat was on thank you. there sure is a frosty look that creeps up at the edges of your windscreen. I was experimenting with settings and saw the effect pop on and off.

Nothing like this is simulated - you're imagining things  :P

LOL. As with most things in this hobby!

Haha. Now that's funny. Keep staring. Maybe you'll start seeing patches of rain on the PFD's haha.

Hi Eric,

I've actually seen the same effect myself! Will try and post a picture when I get a chance of the effect.

So in this case, I know you haven't been smoking your socks.. ;-)

Cheers,

Could be some haze effect from your weather engine, not related to the VC windows ...

If PMDG had simulated this eye-candy and sacrificed a 2D popup of the overhead because of some FSX limit reached with the "frost effect" (polygons, frames, VAS, whatever), people would not have understand that kind of decision anyway.

I'm just glad frost is not simulated.   :P

What happened to AVSIM

Haha, love it, just like when I reported droplets on my NGX windows, and now I've got it on my T7 too. Very disappointed when I found out that rain effect was not modelled... :)

Anyone knows why I get these small, flickering, dropletshaped anomalies against the water? I use REX textures, DX9 and "Water low 2.0".
