September 8, 200421 yr I would like make the autotrim system, as the same in real AIRBUS but the system have any features writing below:*Autotrim not avaliable in the ground.*Autotrim resets to ZERO position when the aircraft landing.*Autotrim only avaible after takeoff.Example: With de autopilot OFF, the pilot initialize an descent profile (2500 V/S). If the pilot release sidestick, the autotrim keeps 2500 V/S. The same for climbs. Its possible? How to make an autorim system? Anybody here know? This is part of a project that it aims at to improve Airbus PSS. Who to know program, please, writes code or makes the archive and send me for email.Best regards!Alan/Brazil
September 8, 200421 yr Alan, to the best of my knowledge there are two products today that have done anything coming close to what you describe. The first was the A320PIC by AntiCyclonE (publ. WILCO). They had a method that meant that the normal MSFS control input was by-passed and joystick signals were taken care of the aircraft software first which applied the FBW logic with flight protection and such. The resulting control commands were then fed into the MSFS engine. In my view no one else has come even close to what they acchieved with this method, even if they unfortunately didn /Tord Hoppe, Sweden
September 8, 200421 yr Author It's possible if not applied to a commercial product that already has one, in this case you will have two systems fighting each other. It's also possible to "fool" the system by acting in the aircraft accelerations and speeds. However the forcing will interact with FS and the end result is not the best. It's easy to control the bank but the pitch is another story. Of course to all work as it should the joystick system must be disconnecting from FS. I believe I posted in the library the necessary Direct Input functions for that.Jos

September 8, 200421 yr Author Don't know if the PSS bus simulates the auto trim correctly but it controls the trim, I'm sure about that. I'm not a bus fan so never see exactly what it does just looked to the plane reactions when tried to overcome the autopilot with another one. The idea was to put a direct mode airfile and construct the managed mode over it.In terms of autopilot the best one that I know is the default FS2004 since the parameters are changeable (however the producers don't like it) and PMDG (there was once an explanation in the forum of the fundamentals and it wasn't a classic controller). September 8, 200421 yr >Don't know if the PSS bus simulates the auto trim correctly>but it controls the trim, I'm sure about that.Hello again Jose. The PSS bus not simulates Autotrim with autopilot OFF. In real bus if (with AP OFF) the pilot start manualy descent with rate of 2500 per minute and if release sidestick the Fly-By-Wire system keeps these rate. Understand? How make an autotrim gauge only active when the AP is OFF?(without any relation to a specific panel)Best regards!Alan/BRAZIL
September 8, 200421 yr Commercial Member Really what's going to have to happen for the autotrim to be realistically modeled (and I'm really hopeing PMDG does an A320 at some point, because they've done it very well with the NG's CWS mode) is that joystick commands need to be intercepted by a module which processes them in the same way that the real A320's FCC does and then transmits that information onto either FS directly as joystick input or to the airplane's autopilot system (another custom programmed module in itself). This way, when you move the joystick, the "FCC emulator" module is actually telling FS to hold constant pitch, G load, etc like the real thing does.
