March 15, 201313 yr Hi everyone, Just reinstalled FSX and RC, unfortunately I get "run time error '5', invalid procedure call or argument" when I try to load a flight plan. I have the latest FSUIPC and I ran makerwys.exe from my FSX folder and it fails to make the runways csv files for some reason. Any help would be much appreciated! Regards: Zsolt Zsolt Szivak
March 15, 201313 yr If your FS and RC reside on the same pc you run the RC rebuild within RC insuring you put in the correct path to your FSX folder, answer No to the wide FS question, and RC will execute makerwys.exe and as you OK each dialog will copy r5.csv to your rcv4x\data folder as r4.csv and then create a4.csv from that. If you are running RCv4 on a client pc to an FS host via WideFS then in this case you run makerwys.exe first in your FS folder on the host and when complete on your client with RC running the RC rebuild routine answering Yes to the WideFS prompt, putting in the correct network path to your FS folder and then it will jump directly to the copy/create routine stated above. Either way you can check in your rtcv4x\data folder the date-time modified for r4.csv and a4.csv to see if they are correct for the date-time of your scenery rebuild. Be sure you have a shortcut to rcv4.exe set up with a property to run as admin for Win 7 or VISTA. Make sure the flt-wx path is correct (to your flight plan folder). Be sure you are using the FS9 or FSX .pln format for RC, not a special plan such as .rte or .rt2 used for FMCs, etc. Let us know if you still have a problem.
March 15, 201313 yr Author OK I tried to rebuild the scenery , answered no to the widefs, then I got "makerwys.exe is not in your FS path which should be". My makerwys is currently in my FSX folder. Also checked r4.csv and a4.csv, have not been updated at all. Thanks in advance Zsolt Zsolt Szivak
March 15, 201313 yr Make sure RC is bypassed in your security software. I am an FS9 user. Here is what my path looks like: h:\program files\microsoft games\flight simulator 9 which I keep in a text file and paste into any path prompt. In that folder is where I have makerwys.exe. Did you get makerwys.exe from here? http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/ You also stated when you ran it directly it did not create any r5.csv in your your FSX folder? If so reinstall it. Also make sure you are using RC version 4.3 build 3845. What is your Windows version.
March 15, 201313 yr Author It seems I am trying to run FSX with version 4.2.3831, can you send me the update link? Also I downloaded the makerwys 4.62 you recommended and it successfully created the runway and CSV files, although my data file has no r5.csv files, only r4.csv files. Thanks Zsolt Zsolt Szivak
March 15, 201313 yr Commercial Member you do not run makerwys.exe on it's own. rc runs it from within the rc app. rc app then reformats the files for it's use, and renames them if you need the link to 4.3 send me an email at [email protected] jd JD Read my blog
March 16, 201313 yr you do not run makerwys.exe on it's own. unless your rc pc is a client to an fs host using Wide FS for networking Also I downloaded the makerwys 4.62 you recommended and it successfully created the runway and CSV files, although my data file has no r5.csv files, only r4.csv files. makerwys when executed puts r5.csv and a no longer used r4.csv in your fsx folder. RC4.3 build 3845 will copy the r5.csv in your fsx folder to rcv4x\data as r4.csv if everything is working and then create a4.csv in that folder using r4.csv. See if the RC update cures your problem.
March 16, 201313 yr Author Thanks for the help guys, I am up and running!! Looks like the update did it. Regards, Zsolt Zsolt Szivak
