737NGX Climbing problems

Featured Replies

Sometimes when I fly in the NGX I cannot reach my cruising altitude. The rate at which the plane climbs is very low and by the time I get there it is time for my descent. I turn off the autopilot an increase the climb but then the speed drops. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Did you check your optimum FL in the FMC? If you're fat with fuel and payload the higher FLs are out of reach. Other than that, don't really know...

Check your outside air temp - there's weather system bugs in FSX that can cause the temps to be really high up at altitude when they shouldn't be and it'll cause the plane to not climb. (higher temp = lower air density = less lift)

My recent flight was KBWI to KSDF. It said FL390 in the fmc, but I picked FL320.

The temperature was +41c. That could be the case

That's 106F - unless you were on the ground in Phoenix or Vegas in the summer, that's definitely wrong...

That's what it said on the mfd. TAT+41c. When I get to lower altitudes the temp drops.

Seems to be alot of faulty OAT air temps going on! Probably a coincidence? Ive found I have to constantly monitor it. Using As2012 I have to reset the weather engine every other flight in order to get the correct OAT..

IIRC, I've seen people here complaining about that, but the problem was FSINN's faulty weather system or something, so if that happens flying @ Vatsim with Fsinn, that may be the case.

That's it then because I do use fsinn.
