March 24, 201313 yr I have a problem that has being annoying me for a while, the edges of water in flight simulator 10 do not fit in with the rest of the scenery mainly because the small area of land around the water is a different colour, the only scenery addons i have are GEX and REX. please help. I also have blurry scenery at a distance and the other forums do not answer this, i have tried my best and i was really looking for SPECIFIC advice so i have included a screenshot over Manchester UK.
March 24, 201313 yr Sorry, I can't see your screenshot I'm just guessing, but the water may look wrong because it's lacking shorelines. A product like UTX can help with that. Also, upgraded mesh can help with sloping the terrain around the water which helps make it look natural, but I do recommend getting accurate terrain (eg UTX) if you add upgraded mesh. A simpler solution would be to buy Orbx England which gives you upgraded terrain, mesh, textures and other improvements, and it works very nicely with REX water and sky textures. FS Water Configurator is a free app which can also help to make the water more natural, but it doesn't help with shorelines. For blurry scenery at a distance, see the guide pinned at the top of this forum. You might need to increase your LOD_RADIUS but too much increase causes framerate issues or OOM's. Barry Friedman
March 24, 201313 yr Author Thank you, i have installed water configurator and will try UTX, i will get back to you on that
March 25, 201313 yr Ultimate Terrain X fixes a lot of scenery issues. I have UTX-USA and UTX-Tropical Americas. Great products, but be warned, some airports in FSX are not where they should have been placed. UTX moves some airports to their correct geographic positions, that means add-on airports may no longer be where they are supposed to be. My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.
March 25, 201313 yr Yeah, I wish UTX could automatically disable their airport corrections when they confict with 3rd party addons. I had UTX Canada bury an airport (CYRV) under Orbx NRM mesh. Fortunately it's fairly easy to disable the UTX corrections via their setup tool. Barry Friedman
