JeppView

Has anyone any experience of this product/service? I believe this is available by subscription from Jeppesen(expensive!), with monthly(?) updates. The reason I ask is that I came across one of the disks on offer at eBay, which claimed to have comprehensive coverage of 4,500 airports worldwide. It'll probably go for 80-90 dollars.BR,Frank

hi therei have access to jeppview and flitestar and must say it is fantastic, much better than simcharts ,but of course jeppview is pro flight planning software.for it to run you need a license serial which unlocks your subscription and it is very expensive.i would imagine that this cd on ebay wll be an out of date version causing you to have to run your pc with old date settings set in windows eg2001.Personally i would stay away because if they dont give you their serial number(if they do its most likely a pirate serial) then you will either be left with a dud cd or a big bucks bill from jeppesen! hope this helps Keith

Thanks very much, Keith. I will heed your advice.Actually, my needs are much more modest than the coverage provided by Jeppview. For now, at least, I need charts for Irish airports, and some obvious ones in UK(EGLL, EGCC, etc), and a handful on the continent(I do, however, want complete coverage of the airports I choose).By the way, do you know if SimCharts will allow you to save charts and print them from another PC? I don't have a printer right now, but could print charts at work(:-)).Best wishes,Frank

Hi, you can

Ah, that was the information I was after. Thanks very much, Uwe!BR,Frank

Hi Franki have just been sorting through my junk and found simcharts europe and north america. They are quite old but if you want them then you are quite welcome.I will send the cds to you if you give me an address regards Keith

There is a freeware pdf called CutePDF Writer as well. We have been using it at work to create PDF files from MS Word documents and it seems to do an OK job. If interested, it can be found here:http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp
