Hi All:

 

I have a 3rd party AC with winglets but there is no specific winglet bmp in the texture folder. After some experimentation, I found out that the texture for the winglets was drawn from the vertical stabilizer which is a combo of checkered colors and white lettering of the AC carriers name. The lettering has carried over to the winglets and instead of being a solid color, looks like a hodge podge.

Is there any way to allow painting of the winglets (solid color) separate from the vertical stab textures (mixed colors)?

That would require remapping the model and the original author would be the only person to do that.

 

IMO, that was a poor decision on their part and I would let them know that if I were you.

The author has numerous, very well done models (even of this one, an E190). I just wonder why, with his experience in modelling, that he over looked the winglets. I have written him once before asking a question pertaining to operation of one of his aircraft and never got a reply.
