April 12, 201313 yr During the regular work week, I have opportunities to flight sim but no access to my home FSX rig. I recently acquired a decently spec'd laptop and installed MSFlight. With an old joystick and headphones, a traveling flightsim computer has been possible. With MSFlight, I've enjoyed the "fun" flights but really want to do more serious simming with it to keep my "stick" and instrument skills sharp. My questions: 1) What is the "best" aircraft for accurate cockpit procedures and IFR work?2) Which of the scenery packages is "best" for instrument procedures?3) Is there any kind of "real" weather available? Please feel free to offer any other suggestions or comments you think might be of help!! Thanks Henry S. My MSFS 2020 repaints: Flightsim.to - Profile of HStreet Working on MSFS 2024 versions.
April 12, 201313 yr I would suggest getting the Maule, along with the full Hawaii and Alaska packs. There is no real-world weather.
April 12, 201313 yr The RV6-A is also a good choice for IFR. It comes with the Hawaii pack. The Carbon Cub is great fun for VFR stick and rudder work. I would also suggest the Alaska pack. Steve
April 13, 201313 yr The Maule and Hawaii. I too have Flight on a I7laptop which I travel with. The desktop just doesn't fit in a suitcase.
April 13, 201313 yr Author Thanks for all the good answers. Looking at the packages, I will start with Hawaii and the Vans. (Maule not far behind :-) ) My MSFS 2020 repaints: Flightsim.to - Profile of HStreet Working on MSFS 2024 versions.
