September 24, 200421 yr I have been simming for some 10 years and am very fortunate to have what i would term as a very good setup. But with our hobby growing at an amazing pace and new addons being developed every day I wonder if there is something I am missing. Let me set the scenario. I fly medium to large jets mostly out of the UK with a preference to charter airlines. I love realism in my sim.I own all the PMDG, PSS, Simflyers, Simwings, UK2000, Feel there CRJ's products plus ActiveSky, registered Fsuipc and a whole load of freeware addons that have forced me to expand my hard drive twice in the last year.My simple request - Has anyone got any recommendations on an addon be it payware or freeware that some one like me should have.I have been contemplating Captain Sim 727, Pushback v2 but have heard mixed reports on both. Plus what about sceneries????Remember I love it real like most of us, and enjoy medium to long haul flights.Would appreciate any suggestions.RegardsSmiley13.2 miles 27R ILS London Heathrow/1 mile south London CityNot great place to live at 5am in the morning when the heavies turn onto approach above me. (well its not that bad)ps for those who don't know I live in the place where time originates!!!!! - so does West and East. Any guesses???
September 24, 200421 yr Sounds like you have commercial aircraft covered fairly well! It doesn't sound like you are into general aviation, but there are lots of great addons for that. Also, what about any of the Eaglesoft business jets (especially the Cessna Citation X and II). They are very nice and will take you anywhere. As for scenery, there are packages for many parts of Europe. Aerosoft offers a bunch. I have some and they are high quality. http://www.aerosoft-shop.com/Do you have any kind of flight planning software? FS Navigator of FS Build? I use FS Nav myself, but I hear good things about FS Build as well. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
September 24, 200421 yr Since you like long haul maybe FlyTampa's Dubai or Miami would be interesting destinations if you don't own them already.-
September 24, 200421 yr Thanks for your reaponse. I have the Citation 11 from Eaglesoft, and am very much into bizjets as a client of mine is Netjets in London. I always have an issue with the fms being true to life especially on the navigation side. Whilst the flight models are excellent I find the panels are missing something as the PMDG and PSS replicate.Whilst the Aerosoft german series has confused me for the past 12 months. I originally owned the Gap series before a computer crash( yes I back everything up know), but is the Aerosoft the same as the Gap series of sceneries?????. If so then Mr credit card here I come.Flightplanning software has always been a big thing with me and find developers selling a panel package with the FMS built in and the excellent site offered by navdata has kept me away from the standalone flight planning software. I will check them out though.RegardsMiles

September 24, 200421 yr If you want to enhance the panels on the Eaglesoft business jets, check out the jetline 2 and/or 4 avionics from Reality-XP. I use the JL2 in the Citation II and the JL 4 in the Citation X. They really create a nice glass cockpit. You can see lots of screenshots in their forum:http://www.reality-xp.com/I can't say about the German airports. I did purchase one of them during Aerosoft's summer sale, but honestly I'm not that familiar with them. I'm sure you could ask in their forum, and you could find an answer there. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
September 24, 200421 yr Thats great, looks really interesting to add on to my freeeware and payware aicraft. Thanks am looking into the reality XP website and products. Always seen them but never checked the products out.RegardsMiles
September 24, 200421 yr Since money is no concern obviously ;) Switzerland professional is probably as good scenery as you can get. But then if you ever want to try GA out get the FSD Porter really.
September 24, 200421 yr Also, the RFP V2 is a fantastic package if you like "steam gauge" aircraft. It has a steep learning curve but you get a lot of satisfaction when you get it down pat.
September 25, 200421 yr Author Hi SmileyIf you want to slow the pace down a tad you may want to check out this site http://www.calclassic.com/If you check out the download section they just recently added the Constallation L049A in three different paint textures and the Textures and Panels are very spectacular.Others have commented that this should be payware not freeware due to the quality of aircraft.Just a suggestion Smiley you have a good one:)Kenny G.
September 25, 200421 yr Thanks to everyone who replied. Tom Gibson's classic page is mighty fine. I think that I maybe doing some California dreaming this weekend.Cheers to you all for your suggestionsSmiley
September 25, 200421 yr Author One More Time Smiley:You may want to try Radar Contact. It is a program which allows you to file a flight plan anywhere in the world from point A. to Point B. and either you or your co-pilot can fly the plane receiving direction from the radar controllers. It also allows you to select your departure or arrival runway depending on the prevailing winds, and type of aircraft.Good Luck.Kenny G.
