April 14, 201313 yr A way-point for lend-lease aircraft heading to Siberia during WWII. Mostly as I recall P-39's and B-25's. Most to never be seen again. Steve
April 15, 201313 yr I was so happy to see that Spring has finally come to Alaska. B) No, wait, I take it back. There is still plenty of snow. In fact, it seems that Fairbanks is half snowed in and half clear. The runway is still covered in snow at Ladd. Just have to be patient. It will get here some day. Best regards. April 15, 201313 yr Author I do think some P-40's went this route also. Parked on the ramp to shut down and get some hot joe. Steve
April 17, 201313 yr Author Back on line, and it would appear the fourth day of Ladd Army airfield. But one just never knows. I sure hope everyone got this one at some point. Steve
April 18, 201313 yr Isn't it great? I did this a few days ago, so I figured I wouldn't have to do it again. Wrong! It showed as not yet acquired on the list. So, I did it again. And then I landed the Stearman on the frozen river, which is probably pretty risky at this time of the year. Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
