April 15, 201313 yr I'm more or less new to this, was given an USB brick for my birthday present containing a Boeing 767 with a virtual copilot that you talk with. However, is there any way to use it without speaking too loud because I have a flatmate and it's so embarassing for her to see me talking with a virtual machine pretending to fly an airplane for hours... The aircraft is Level D 767. Stupid questions, but would like to know if there is ways to use flight simulator as quietly as possible. Anyone else embarrassed of the hobby? And sorry my english, I'm trying to learn...
April 15, 201313 yr Hi There, I guess what you have received is a copy of FS2Crew? I am not sure just guessing. I have the LevelD B767 and just installing it alone do not require to speak to no one. So if that is the case why can't you just uninstall Fs2Crew and just keep the LevelD, you will be able to enjoy with no talking. The only talking in LevelD, is when you require, to connect or remove the Ground power, and Air. But that is only from the PC, who reply to your request, no talking from your part. Hope this help Regards
April 15, 201313 yr Yes, it is. There is not any uninstaller because he told me that he had been using it before and just quit the hobby because he succeded as a real pilot. I honestly don't know why he gave it away still... For installer you must buy the product again? I suppose you don't need to use it in the end, but interesting stuff really. If it can land the plane, I would be happy
April 15, 201313 yr Hi again, I used to have Fs2Crew and if I remember correctly there was an uninstaller for FS2Crew, as it need to register in Windows, so it was under add & remove programs. Try to look under the Fs2004 folder, in the modules folder, I think there is a modules for Fs2crew, I am not sure, someone who uses Fs2crew can KK that. But if you find any just rename it from .dll to org or something like that, just in case you need to use it later on. Foe LevelD plane, if you don't have the actual installer, I don't think you can use the plane, so you need to make sure you install only the plane without the FS2crew. Regards
April 15, 201313 yr There's also a button-controlled version of FS2Crew. Apart from that, there's ATC that can be controlled via keyboard commands and a headset can help you to avoid any noise bothering other people. I have my sound playing much louder when on headset because of my neighbours, too. What happened to AVSIM
April 15, 201313 yr Thanks, I found it actually, decided to keep it. I went really drunk last night and woke up to a complete mess. A star painted on my face, chairs and sofas upside down, scrambled eggs (somebody didn't want to use the frying pan?) on the floor and huge piles of clothes. So apparently I had been installing all those things when my guests went out forgetting about it. As for Level D, I found a folder called so but no trace of an installer, but if it writes to registry, and it's working, I must have done something. Is the button controlled version included? In this apartment neighbours tell me to be quiet even though they have a 3 year old brat running around at 1 am, idiots...
April 15, 201313 yr There's a version offered that you don't have to speak to. It's all button controlled. I had a problem with talking to the computer as well and spoke about this with the guy who makes FS2Crew. He couldn't understand why I would have a problem talking to my computer. He refuses to make more button only options for his packages. I would really like a button version of his Maddog package. Some around us already think our hobby is crazy and it's worse with us sitting there talking to our computers. You'd think FS2Crew would get that... FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
April 15, 201313 yr My point exactly, some people don't understand our hobby and finds it extremely ridicolous to be talking with a computer and on top of that flying some plane for hours. Rumours about it would grow as well as more and more people will get to know... I understand that people might like voice control better, but really, some of us can't use it. Also with two versions posibility to gain more money, basically good for both sides. It's the same problem with all these developers going FSX only...
April 15, 201313 yr My apologies if I were being imprecise: The button-controlled version is a separate version, that comes at an extra price. What happened to AVSIM
