September 28, 200421 yr HiI was really just wanting people's opinions on commercial (professional?) Aircraft addons. I have always loved the freeware stuff, until I ventured into buying PMDG
September 28, 200421 yr 767 PIC v2., announced for this autumn.I expect the PMDG 747 will be out much later-but that's the one I'm looking forward to most, actually (Because of a preference for the real aircraft-not a preference for either developer, they're both tops as far as airliners are concerned).Check out the AVSIM 767 PIC support forum.Edit: I think you're out of luck with Airbus. I don't know of any top developer working on one of those. Smaller jets: Dreamfleet 727 soon, and 737 further on.Best,Martijn
September 28, 200421 yr there are freeware A340-500 and A340-600, the 2 i use do not have VC but they do have V Cabins, i use them with the PSS A340 panel. I can't think off hand who made them but i do know for certain you can find them in either flightsim or Avsim libraries. Also widen your search to include FS2002 planes, the GMAX and FSDS2 planes work fine in FS9 even if they do not have all the advances.
September 29, 200421 yr Thanks - that looks beautiful! -- vir_a346.zipSeems like there's a real gap in the market.Gary
September 29, 200421 yr Author Not sure how specific you were being when you asked for an A346, but Project Opensky do an A342 amd A343 with virtual cockpit www.projectopensky.com. Posky aircraft are usually top-of-the-range for free(ish)ware or donationware, whatever the term is.I don't have that myself, or the PSS A340, but I do have the PSS A320, and although the panel is fantastic, there are now better models visually e.g. IFDG.Aerodesigns also does an A343 - ad343_base_house.zip and ad_a340_1_2.zip seem to apply. I hate Aerodesigns because their aircraft are packed with features like flexing wings and condensation trails and look fantastic but they reduce my machine to a smouldering wreck! I think this is because they often come with a virtual cabin, which is something I can't quite see the need for.I'm sure if you were to search the forums for "PSS merge" or something similar, you'll come up with advice on how merge the PSS panel with another aircraft model.
September 29, 200421 yr Author The PSS A340 package contains the A342 and the A343 but NOT the A346I think therefore you might well have added complications trying to use the PSS panel with a A346 you got from somewhere else, because the aircraft's weight & balance, engine & fuel data etc etc would not match up with what the panel was expecting. You would be better sticking to a 200 or a 300.Also, Posky do a B744 which might match with the PSS panel, although I don't know whether the Posky plane has a VC. I think probably not.
September 10, 200520 yr I was searching around the forum re a panel merge and spotted this old post. The file named below works quite well with the A340-500 from Simubuild ( a345ac.zip ) although I haven't tried it yet with the A340-600 from Flightcraft ( a340-600.zip ). I am in the middle of a flight from WSSS to KLAX using the -500 right now over on IVAO. Despite not having a VC available she seems to be flying OK although of course I haven't tried to land yet :-) looks like a long time before I get that chance though ;-)Anyway just thought if anyone wants to fly PSS panel and the -500 or -600 this filename might help. You won't find it on AVSIM but it is at another major site.PSS A340 panel merge = ps3456fw.zipAndrew Brownhttp://www.gordiusfs.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/
