Altimiter and save Problems

Featured Replies

Hi there I have the NGX. Now what happens is say I am flying at 35000ft altimiter set by pressing B and double cheked with ATC. ATC will then say I am 300 odd feet above 35000ft.  This also happens with other aircraft i use. Does anyone know what is wrong?

Also say I land at EGLL park up and save the flight for another time to fly the return leg the aircraft always re-loads to the standard new flight setup with engines running etc.  Does anyone know how I can fix this problem aswell?

Thanks very much Scotgr

Never use 'b' to set the altimeter. Always set the altimeter ATC have given you, except when you are above the transition altitude, in which case you set standard altimeter ( qnh 1013 )

You need to go into the FMC's "PMDG Setup" menu, and select a "startup state". Get everything set exactly how you want things to be when you load a flight. Then click on "Panel Save State" in the PMDG Setup menu. After that, click on "startup state" and select the panel state you just saved. After that, whenever you load that particular plane in FSX, it will start up exactly in that particular configuration.

This is all explained pretty clearly in the "NGX Introduction" manual that comes with the aircraft when you purchase it. If you don't know where the manuals are, click on your start menu, and find the folder "PMDG Simulations"....very valuable information in that there folder, and you should definitely at least read that introduction manual cover to cover if you really want to understand how to use this A/C!!
