Weather in P3D

Featured Replies

I am looking at taking the dive into Prepar3d from FSX, one feature that I cannot find to much information on is Prepar3d's ability to depict weather. What I am talking about is displaying accurate rain/thunderstorms/snow instead of just "turning the rain on around the aircraft". I plan on using REX for my weather engine.

Thanks for the info.

Tom

No problem using a weather injector with Prepar3d.

Default weather themes look way better than default weather themes in FSX, but I use AS2012 SP2 and it's GREAT!

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

Grab a Copy of OPUS  it works Wonderful in P3D  and you can get rid of EZDOK  using Opus cameras,

the DHM works better as well.

Default Weather  is much better in P3D, and  Smoother.

It bit the bullet and now have Prepar3d on my system, simply for the cost benefit I went with REX. I am though having difficulties as it seems as if it is injecting weather every minute or so and adjusting where clouds etc.. are. I will also post in the REX forums to see if anyone else knows why this is.

@t_bergman: Hmmm, I do not have REX, but if it's interface is started 1st, and then you have an option to start P3D from inside as a "SUB-PROCESS" try that as opposed to starting it separately from P3D.

Also make sure that in P3D you have at least:

[JOBSCHEDULER]
AffinityMask=14 or 84 depending on your CPU.
