Specifying a cruise alt?

Featured Replies

So I haven't managed to establish where to define your required cruising alt on the FMC to get TOC info etc.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

You don't specify a cruise alt, and TOC is never calculated anyway, this aircraft doesn't have a sophisticated FMC like many other commercial aircraft.

Cheers, Andy.

Ah, I thought I'd seen it in a screenshot at some point; it must have been TOD that I saw

Yup, you just put in the altitude you want, hit alt sel, and manage the climb with V/S :) or IAS if you want a speed managed climb.

V/S can be quite dangerous for climbing in higher altitudes, because there is no stall protection!

You are correct. I actually use IAS all the way up to cruise and then V/S during descent because the VNAV portion of the tutorial confuses me lol
