Default VC angle edit

Featured Replies

Can the angle at which the virtual cockpit eyepoint looks by default be adjusted? I have adjusted the default x,y,z coordinates for the view but still have to use the hat switch to look "down" to the instruments every time i press space.

Any insight?

I don't think so...

You could try to change the VIEW_FORWARD_DIR value in the panel.cfg file, but I think this only affects the 2D panel.

This is supposed to be one of the advantages of the VC - it always has a "correct" view out the window.

[VIEWS]

VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=8.000, 0.000, 0.000

in panel.cfg

changes the angle of view for 2D and VC

eyepoint = -8.213, -0.8612, 2.220 //Longitudinal, Lateral, Vertical (feet)

in aircraft.cfg moves your "head" only in VC

So that panel edit simply tilts the default VC view down as if you used the hat switch to look down?

Yep.

To check this try extremes like -12 or 24.

This way you can check what's going on (what the effect is).

EDIT: to see the changes you have to reload the aircraft you are editing.
