May 7, 201313 yr Can the angle at which the virtual cockpit eyepoint looks by default be adjusted? I have adjusted the default x,y,z coordinates for the view but still have to use the hat switch to look "down" to the instruments every time i press space. Any insight? James Bennett
May 7, 201313 yr I don't think so... You could try to change the VIEW_FORWARD_DIR value in the panel.cfg file, but I think this only affects the 2D panel. This is supposed to be one of the advantages of the VC - it always has a "correct" view out the window. Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
May 7, 201313 yr [VIEWS] VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=8.000, 0.000, 0.000 in panel.cfg changes the angle of view for 2D and VC [Views] eyepoint = -8.213, -0.8612, 2.220 //Longitudinal, Lateral, Vertical (feet) in aircraft.cfg moves your "head" only in VC
May 7, 201313 yr Author So that panel edit simply tilts the default VC view down as if you used the hat switch to look down? James Bennett
May 7, 201313 yr Yep. To check this try extremes like -12 or 24. This way you can check what's going on (what the effect is). EDIT: to see the changes you have to reload the aircraft you are editing.
May 8, 201313 yr Author Managed to set it perfectly by modifying it from 3.5 to 13. Wish i'd known about this earlier! James Bennett
