Trouble with A.I. aircraft

Featured Replies

Just updated to 10.21 64 bit and I love it. I do have a problem though. It's these two a.i. aircraft at KSEA. Everytime ATC clears these planes to land I see them approach on final ( as I and other aircraft are waiting for our take off clearence ) then all the sudden they climb and turn only to come back around requesting clearence to land again. Clearence is then granted, and the same thing happens all over again, repeatedly. Everyone is stuck waiting and nobody gets to take off. These two aircraft appear to be a Nasa 747 and a military KC-139 tanker. This always happens, and I get impatient and take off anyway( don't tell the FAA ). Anyway I don't know how to correct it. Can anyone give me some help. One more thing, I don't see any lights on the skyscrapers at night--Is this a bug? Has anyone else noticed this. Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

An Update. Just ran x plane again and it seems that everyone in the pattern at KSEA is being waved off by ATC. Nobody is landing. All the aircraft ask for landing clearence and are cleared then at final approach inbound atc tells them to climb and maintain 3000 ft. at such and such heading. Then they all go around for another try and it repeats again. In the mean time we all just sit there and watch the show.

Maybe your aircraft is too close to the tarmac and considered on the active surface area and making the approaching aircraft execute a missed approach. Maybe it's just lousy ATC coding of a pre-mature under-developed feature (one I laugh everytime I read that Austin feels it's "good enough").

You might have something there...I was at RENTON, and rubber necking about 50 feet back from the turn-on to the active threshold. Well, there were two G.A. AI at taxi to the threshold on the other side of the apron. The first, a Baron stopped, and just sat there. I sat there, It sat there, Some sort of threshold standoff, lol. I had to turn around and back off to some distance before I saw the Baron move forward, enter onto the runway, and start its roll. I wonder actually how close you can go to an active threshold, before XP assumes you intend to take to the runway? In FSX and FS9, I can be about 50 feet back and not impede A.I. comings and goings....

Everytime I pick KSEA to start out from my aircraft is placed at the threshold of runway 16L. Traffic is inbound for 34R. That may be the problem. I always try to move off the runway but maybe xp dosen't sense that. The airaft continue to circle. The only way I can contact atc is to file a a flight plan 1st then request clearence then ground ect...and that doesn't fix the problem. I've also tried to start my aircraft at a ramp to try to avoid this but I either get put right on top of another aircraft at that same position or as I'm trying to start up I get run right through by other aircraft only to face the same situation.
