May 11, 201313 yr Hello all, The last days I am unable to use the Bing maps service..I was able to fly jets and get crisp loaded tiles but now the loading proccess is too slow. Even loading when stationary in an airport takes too much time. Does anyone know if something has happened? Waiting for your replies! May 11, 201313 yr Glad to hear that cuz I'm seriously pondering trying it out. Have to go get an amazing harddrive first cuz I plan on caching. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
May 12, 201313 yr Author Nice! I am waiting for a fix from my ISP. I fly without TP now and I can't stand the defauld tiles...TileProxy is just amazing! I got the best results using an SSD for caching. The same SSD I have Windows and Preare3D (or FSX) installed. This is what is is now: http://ak.t0.tiles.virtualearth.net/tiles/a023130321322022330.jpeg?g=1265&n=z Can I ask where you get this info from-is this a recent change at all??? I fly with TP and as I haven't flown for a couple of weeks so I haven't had chance to notice any problems!! Regards Steve Sent from my BlackBerry 8520 using Tapatalk
May 20, 201313 yr No problem. I had a hell of a time trying to find it myself but what I did was: * Download Mozilla Firefox browser *Install the developers toolbar *Browse to the map service of your choice (in my case I used MSN/Bing Maps) *Turn on the satellite view and remove all labels *Go to the developer toolbar and click images>view image source - What you will see here is every image on the page along with its link. This is the format you use for TP.
May 21, 201313 yr Aaaah I see now...Thanks for the info. Can I also ask what you put in your .ini file then to reflect the change as I assume this full line relates to 1 specific tile; //ak.t0.tiles.virtualearth.net/tiles/a023130321322022330.jpeg?g=1265&n=z Thanks again Steve Sent from my BlackBerry 8520 using Tapatalk
May 29, 201313 yr Author Hello no cigar! No, I was not aware of a change in bing maps address! Unfortunately the link you posted resulted in black terrain for me... So, I would ask as Steve, what is the exact address we should put in the ini file.. I am looking forward for your reply! Regards, Ifikratis Ifikratis Personally having checked some of this out, I think No Cigar is mistaken in his findings - I get the same result as you.....black tiles....when using those amendment(s). My .ini file is how it always was and it seems to works absolutely fine - my service example entry for Bing maps reads as follows: [service Example 1] cache_folder=D:\TP\cache.service1 network_module=libnettile module_config="conn=20|rate=2.0|verbose=0|server=http://a*.ortho.tiles.virtualearth.net|path=/tiles/a%s.jpeg?g=%v|quad=0123|balance=0123|useragent=Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)" min_level=10 max_level=17 map_version=1180 #level_mapping=9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17 #level_mapping=10,11,12,14,14,15,16,17 more radius HQ (13->14) #level_mapping=9,10,11,14,14,14,15,16,17 even more radius in HQ (12,13->14) color_hack=No color_level=13 bulk_extend=50 The only amendment I may consider is that it appears as though the latest map version is 1265.......but I've always been dubious as to whether that makes any difference. Hope that helps Regards Steve Edit: a*.ortho.tiles.virtualearth.net|path=/tiles/a%s.jpeg?g=%v|quad=0123|balance=0123|useragent=Mozilla/4.0 Please note that the server address LINE reads as above with http:// in front of it- I can't get my post to not "hyperlink" that section of my .ini file and "hide" parts of it
May 29, 201313 yr Author Hello Steve, Thanks for replying. I also use the same address. I am currently experimenting with mapping optios for faster tile loading..
