October 9, 200421 yr Hello FS friends:In 2-D view the panel bitmaps are bizzarely stretched (see attached). 3-D view, spot plane and tower views appear normal, as do all outside objects. Clickable hotspots in 2-D view seem to be placed normally.Any ideas how to fix this strange stretching of the 2-D panel bitmap? Thanks for your ideas
October 11, 200421 yr Does this occur with all aircraft? Is the radio stack affected?Have you tried resizing the panel by dragging the edges of a rectangle surrounding it?Are you still using the original startup flight? Panel resizing should be retained at new settings IF you replaced the default startup flight at some point.
October 11, 200421 yr I get exactly thye same problem. Here are my observations1. In full screen mode its al right (alt-enter)2. happens only with panels other views are fine3. mostly happned after installing the 61.76 driver of nvidia and i use g4 mmx 8.0 agp card.4. The best part in full screen mode there is substantial increase in frame rates. No changes in fs9.cfg. Any help will be appreciated.
October 11, 200421 yr Did the problem occur after you update using the FS91upd.exe file. If so, one of the changes is the display.cfg file in the flight simulator 9 folder. Rename this file display.NEW, copy the display.xxx.cfg file from the BACKUP folder to the flight simulator 9 folder and remove the ".xxx" from the file name. Restart fs2004 to see if the problem is corrected.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
October 11, 200421 yr No it was prior to using the patch. On further investigations I've noticed the following:1. If i set my default aircraft and flight to some original fs default then restart FS everything is fine till I switch to an aircraft whose panel.cfg has this linesize_mm=1280,960 instead of the default size_mm=640 then the problem resurfaces. In full screen all the panels display correctly though!!
October 12, 200421 yr I had this same problem with my Dads Flight Simulator, I had installed the latest Nvidia drivers and when FS went into the flight I got the same panel stretching as you. Turning off the Aliasing fixed the panel stretching problem, but FS looked terrible. As soon as I went back to 56.72 series it ran fine. He has a Geforce 4 MX440, and I don't think the newest drivers are compatible. Hope this helps!Gene
October 12, 200421 yr Ok I have found out the reason atleast.1. In 61.72 and 61.73 drivers if you select single view then this problem will arise. The positive point is in full screen mode you get everything fine additionally you get a substantial boost in fps. on my geforce4 mmx with all sliders maxed out 19.8 fps is stable. previously it had to be simple clouds and autogen normal.2. if you dont like flying full screen and want windowed then choose the dual view option. Everything will be fine but alas your fps will be back to where it was with other drivers.
