C++ Causing Crashes! HELP!

Featured Replies

Guys, I've been having this issue for about a week now. It's frustrating to be 3 hours into a flight only to have the sim crash. I know we all have had it happen, but this is getting ridiculous. I've uninstalled the sim and all C++ entries, and reinstalled the sim and on a few add-ons but it just crashed again.

Here are the 2 screen shots with the messages that I was given.

And then...

Then the sim "stops working" or so I'm told by that dreaded pop-up window.

Does anyone have any leads or fixes to this before I stick my head through a brick wall? =@

FSX/Acceleration and all FSX addons require Microsoft Visual C++ 2005, 2008, and 2010.  If they are not located on your system.  FSX will crash.  Here's the latest 2005 version - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26347.  Here's the latest 2008 - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26368 and here's the latest 2010 version - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26999.  Make sure you run Windows Update after installing them.  FSX and all FSX addon's will install the proper Microsoft Visual version if not already found on your system but not the latest updates.

Download the x86 versions of each even if you have a 64-bit operating system,right? Because FSX is a 32-bit program?

Exactly correct.  If your system needs the 64 bit version, it will download it through Windows Update.
