Featured Replies

Hello guys,

I am starting to read about the add-on REX Essential PLUS for FSX/PREPAR3D

and wanted to hear some opinions if such an add-on hits negatively on the FPS?

Thanks for your comments!!

IMHO REX is unmatched for texture quality (see screen shot below), but the weather engine is rather terrible. Everyone I fly with uses ActiveSky2012 for their weather engine and they use REX for textures (if they have them).  IMHO Active Sky 2012 is an unmatched weather engine if you fly airliners. Note please that I do not own and have not tested OPUS (they can send to me for testing if they like) but I've read their capabilitis and limitations.  I have tested ActiveSky2012 extensively and it's the best I've ever used for flying airliners - and excellent as well for smaller aircraft that operate at lower altitudes.

No noticeable impact on my system even with the highest resolution (though I keep texture compression enabled).
