balancing resolution and AA

Featured Replies

I will hopefully start up building an über rig this summer . I wonder what has the best FPS/screen beauty ratio : a fine resolution (2560*1600; 16:10 to get a large vertical range) which is a boatload of pixels to move about but should call for a lower or maybe no AA at all (?) or a coarser grain (say 1920*1200,  also 16:10 but with a little more than half the load ), less pixels but which needs higher AA?

Actually I'm strongly tempted by the  DELL 16:10 3incher     .

Any idea ?

Ok, my question seems difficult to answer.Let me rephrase it. For you guys using the 2560 resolution, do you see any benefit in having some AA?

You cannot possibly go without AA...

OK, I've got 1920x1080, but with 8XS AA and 2XSGS...

The newer nvidia cards run that without breaking a sweat.  B)
