Runways Edit FSX

Recommended Posts

I installed an updated ADE file and after updating all databases using makerwys v 4.6.5.0 .  Looking at the runways text file I see that the new ADE file has incorrect ILS frequencies for two of the runways,

The text excerpted from makerunways is:

Note that the latest Navigraph charts indicate that Rwy 16R should be 109.75 and Rwy 34R should be 111.550 .

Can I edit this for correction in the text file or does the ADE need to be corrected and re-compiled?

Thanks

Dom

Changing output from MakeRunways won't change the fact that your "ADE" will make FS use theose (incorrect) frequencies. If you tune into what Navigraph says are the correct frequencies you won't receive the ILS signals. FS uses the values in its scenery files to determine frequencies, irrespective of what real world data might say.

So, yes, you must either use the wrong frequencies, like FS (and RC), or edit the ADE file to change them. The whole point of using MakeRunways to derive data from FS for use in RC (and other programs) is to ensure that those programs are in accord with what FS will be doing.

Pete

Thanks Ray and Pete.

After installing the FSX SDK from the FSX Deluxe disk one and the updates, I edited and compiled the ADE, ran MakeRunways, and everything seems to be correct now.
