Mountain textures

Featured Replies

I have just installed FS Global 2010 and I know that its a mesh product but I still have questions about textures. I have GEX products installed for some regions but not Asia. I saw the screens of the product Lukla X which is an airport near to Mt. Everest and the mountains look great in these but mine still looks like default FSX. I wonder does this have anything with GEX Asia? I know that Lukla addon doesn't contain textures for around of it so what it makes to look the mountains so real? If you want to see what I mean you can check this link and see the first screen. http://secure.simmarket.com/aerosoft-online-lukla-x-mount-everest.phtml

That's photoscenery, it's the real images of the mountains mapped onto the terrain. (I have the Lukla product)

Lukla X also features mesh data. Not sure, though, whether it's better than other addon mesh and how much it adds to the appearance of the Mt. Everest region.

It is likely that the Lukla mesh for both Mt Everest and Lukla is better than most other mesh products, because it's limited to a very small area, but I'm not sure about this.

As for the question of the OP: Lukla does not contain photoreal  textures for the area between Lukla and Mt Everest (e.g. at Syangboche airport), but it has photoreal coverage for Mt. Everest (inculding the glacier where the base camp is located) . This is summer only, probably only daytime textures, because that's actually the only time the airport is frequented.
