Scenery problem with FS9

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks. Would anybody know why I get this line, and change of colour, separating my scenery view?

In this view I'm at FL370. Please see attached image.

Thanks

John

There are actually two lines and three shades of blue there.   A pure guess would be that your scenery radius setting is exceeded by the view distance from that altitude.  I'm the wrong person to answer this...sorry.

Forktail, you have it about right. It is a known view distance and texture resolution issue. FS9 uses a 'degraded' ocean texture for the off in the distance and that rarely if ever matches the near distance textures in color, tint, shade - whatever. That can be hidden by making some adjustments to visibility and sight distance and can also sometimes be made less apparent with add on texture sets for water.

Simply use "Soft Horizon" and almost all the problem will be solved

File Description:
"Soft Horizons" is an effort to make the transition between sky and ground less extreme for Flight Simulator 9 users. The 2007 updates add ten texture files missing from my first release of Soft Horizons.
