June 12, 201312 yr I see from the leaked slide re the upcoming i7-4930K they say it 'supports' 1866Mhz memory. I assume 3930K must 'support' 1600Mhz memory. What is meant by 'support'? I have been assuming if the motherboard supports 2400Mhz memory then SB-E w/ an unlocked multiplier could work w/ 2400Mhz memory. Am I generally correct in that assumption, or no? June 12, 201312 yr Hi Noel, Most of the boards I linked to in the other thread stated they would support 2400Mhz Ram, so by default they would support that with the 3930K. How high you can overclock the CPU with the RAM running at 2400Mhz will depend on your chip, voltages/temps your comfortable with etc. As for 4930K I'm not sure, but I would be very surprised if it didn't support at least 2400Mhz. June 12, 201312 yr Hi Noel The most hi end MoBo:s have support for 2400mhz ram 1:18 mem multi Then its up to your Chip how good the memcontroller is , if you got a bad chip you can always downclock the mems to 2133 - 1600mhz http://
