June 18, 201312 yr Hi all , I have finally started my fresh install & am well on the way with my aircraft , so I am getting close to starting on my scenery installs. I would like to backup my default scenery cfg & bgl files in case I need to fix them in the future , so can someone tell me which ones I need to backup & where they are , thanks. <p> Paul Sleight
June 18, 201312 yr In the same folder as your FSX.cfg is a default scenery.cfg. It is not the working scenery.cfg. If something should go wrong and you want to return to the default scenery.cfg, you simply would copy the one in the FSX.cfg folder and paste it in the working scenery.cfg folder. The working scenery.cfg is location in ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX. The default scenery files and textures are located in the main FSX directory under Scenery. Just copy it to another HDD. June 19, 201312 yr That's exactly what I did with my 1TB. You can also try a backup but that's slower. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
