Any good southeastern US scenery?

Featured Replies

I live in the southeastern US and about the only scenery from the area that I use to train myself on new aircraft is Fly Tampa which is supposedly really good, but I was looking for more than just an airport. Maybe not photo real scenery, but I'd like better than the stock, any suggestions? I use kjax quite a bit, and fly a good deal in South Carolina, and North Carolina.

If you don't mind Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania (probably not exactly the south east, though) you might want to give Pacific Island Simulations' VFR Appalachia a try. I bought it two years ago, and the only reason I don't really use it anymore is that the East coast isn't exactly my preferred area for flying, although I quite enjoyed the airports.

Other than that only FlyTampa's Tampa Rebooted and LatinVFR's KMIA come to my mind (but it seems to suffer bad FPS, and IIRC they are working on a new release of that one). Oh, and Drzewiecki Design have a scenery for the city of Miami, it does only include some upgraded AFCADs for the surrounding airports, though. The same applies for Aerosoft New Orleans, but beware: Some of those US Cities have serious performance issues, and the textures aren't really that good(and usually daytime only).

You might also want to ask this in the FSX forum, as I don't think that the Missions forum is monitored that closely by our fellow simmers.

Just set Autogen to max, et voila, lots of pine trees, realism, done! ;)

Seriously though I think FS Dream Team has done at least Charlotte and environs airport, perhaps they've done all NC as well? Either them or Megascenery, I forget which.
